Seanad 100

In 2022 we marked the centenary of Seanad Éireann, the Upper House of Ireland's Parliament. The theme of Seanad 100 is “Minority Voices, Major Changes”

I was honoured to launch the year-long programme of events celebrating the centenary of the Upper House alongside my colleague Senator David Norris and former Senator and President of Ireland Mary Robinson, together they have more than 50 years of unbroken service that embodies "Minority Voices, Major Changes".

The theme of Seanad 100 is “Minority Voices, Major Changes”

The programme of events culminated in a special 100th Anniversary Ceremonial Sitting of the Seanad in December which was live streamed on Oireachtas TV.
