6/21/2022 THE NEW JERSEY AMERICAN IRISH STATE LEGISLATORS CAUCUS FEATURED ON RTÉ NEWS SIX ONERead Now I appeared on RTÉ News Six One with Sean Whelan, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, and Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo to discuss the American Irish State Legislators Caucus, a bipartisan organization with leadership in all 50 states that aims to strengthen the relationship between Ireland and the U.S.
I spoke to RTÉ One Drivetime about Ukrainian MPs Lesia Vasylenko, Alona Shkrum, Dmytro Natalukha, & Rostyslav Tistyk and their recent address to Seanad Éireann, the first time Ukrainian MPs have addressed a national parliament in person since the war began.
A historic day in the Seanad as four Ukrainian MPs, Lesia Vasylenko, Alona Shkrum, Dmytro Natalukha, and Rostyslav Tistyk addressed the Seanad, the first time Ukrainian MPs have addressed any national parliament in person since the war began. It was an honour to welcome our Ukrainian colleagues to Seanad Éireann this evening just as thousands of Irish people have welcomed Ukrainian refugees into our country. Ireland continues to support Ukraine's application for EU membership and its right to self-determination and democratic government.
Closing remarks following the address to Seanad Éireann by Ukrainian MPs, Lesia Vasylenko, Alona Shkrum, Dmytro Natalukha, and Rostyslav Tistyk: "It is not those who can inflict the most but those who can endure the most who will prevail."
Welcoming the Ambassador from Sweden, His Excellency Mr. Magnus Rydén, to Leinster House to mark the National Day of Sweden and highlighting the bonds between Ireland and Sweden.
